Play Therapy
In my work with children …
We draw on the state of play as the primary and developmentally appropriate medium by which children communicate.
Play is inherently how children make sense of the world around themselves (their external environments) as much as that which exists within them ( their interior worlds). And in this sense how they choose to express themselves as much as how they relate.
Mothers & Infants
In my work with mothers and infants …
I draw on the art of observation and of what it means to be with a mum and her infant in all the developmental and relational challenges.
It is a co supportive space of presence and understanding and where each gets to learn the other strengthening the bonds of attachment and relational presence.
Parent Work
In my work with parents/caregivers …
We discover that therapeutic work is an art that holds time; past, present and the emergent future of becoming.
It can be deeply explorative, freeing
As does it deeply support throughout our challenges - as we learn ourselves and how we are - in relation to those around us.
Ultimately the deepest and greatest work of therapy exists within the realm of care; of what it means to be held with great care and a healthy dose of curiosity for the process, unfolding.
An Art of ‘Holding’
I believe in the power of creativity and that of the imagination and curiosity as much as I do of the artistry of relationality -
Of the significance of relationships to our lives and how their quality, safety and security deeply matter.
As do I believe in the vital necessity of the role of emotional life to the fostering of development and growth and to the shaping of the people we become, as much as those we are in the process of becoming.
